Should Your Real Estate Agent Use AI?

AI can make an agent faster and more responsive. It shouldn't replace judgment, local knowledge, or the relationship. What good use of AI looks like for buyers and sellers, and the questions worth asking.

Yes, if it's used the right way. AI is good at taking friction out of the work: drafting, organizing notes, summarizing documents, keeping follow-up from slipping. It is not good at pricing your home, reading a negotiation, or knowing a neighborhood. My rule is simple: automate friction, not judgment.

Where does AI genuinely help clients?

  • Faster answers. Summaries of disclosures and documents so you get clear information sooner.
  • Better follow-up. Notes from every conversation, so nothing you said gets forgotten.
  • Clearer reports. Turning showing data and feedback into a readable update.
  • More time with you. Every hour saved on admin is an hour for calls, showings and strategy.

Where shouldn't it be used?

  • Pricing. Automated estimates are a starting point. They don't walk through the house.
  • Negotiation. Reading people and timing is human work.
  • Advice. You deserve a person's judgment and accountability.
  • Marketing that misleads. AI-altered photos that don't match the house cost trust (more here).

What should you ask an agent about AI?

  1. What do you use it for?
  2. Who reviews what it produces?
  3. How is my information protected?
  4. What do you never use it for?

A good answer sounds like: it handles the busywork, I make the decisions, and your information stays private.

Relationship first

The order I work in: relationship first, notes second, AI third. Technology should make me more present for clients, not less.

Questions people actually ask.

Can AI price my home?

It can estimate. A real price comes from comparable sales, condition, and what's competing today, which takes a person who's seen the homes.

Is my information safe if my agent uses AI tools?

Ask. Your agent should be able to tell you which tools they use and how client information is handled.

Will AI replace real estate agents?

It'll change the work. People will still want someone they trust for one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

Let's talk

Tell me what you're trying to do, when, and why. I'll walk you through what it would take, and tell you straight whether now makes sense and whether I'm the right person for it.
