Relocation
Moving to Massachusetts? Start with the towns, not the listings.
How the North Shore, Greater Boston, the Merrimack Valley, and Central Massachusetts really differ on commute, housing stock, and cost, before you pick a town.
Listing photos can't tell you what a commute feels like at 7:30 a.m., which streets flood, or why two towns ten minutes apart price so differently. When you're moving from out of state, or across Massachusetts, the first job is choosing where to look.
How I help you narrow it down
- Start with your non-negotiables: commute destination and method, budget, school needs, space, and how much upkeep you want.
- Compare regions honestly. The North Shore, Greater Boston, the Merrimack Valley, and Central Massachusetts each trade price for commute and housing age in different ways.
- Use real numbers. I'll show you what recent sales in your shortlisted towns actually look like, not averages from a national site.
- Tour efficiently. If you can't be here, I can walk homes on video and tell you what the camera misses.
- Plan the timeline around your job start, lease, or school calendar, including whether renting first makes sense.
Moving from out of state
Some things about buying in Massachusetts may be new to you: how offers and purchase and sale agreements work here, attorneys' role at closing, and older housing stock that makes inspections especially important. I'll explain each step as it comes.
Moving north to New Hampshire, or from here to somewhere else?
I can refer you to an agent I trust in that market and stay in touch through the move. See referrals.
